Where is the sensor industry going?

Nowadays, the Internet of Things is hot, and all the action links and application scenarios of the interconnection of things need to be realized by sensors, which have become the basic hardware and necessary conditions of the interconnection of things.

Sensor technology is one of the three pillars of information technology. With the development of "Internet + form" and the realization of "Made in China 2025", the status of sensor technology and sensor industry has become increasingly prominent.

At present, China's sensor industry has a complete industrial system from technology research and development, design, production to application, and the market demand is strong. However, more than 95% of sensor enterprises in China belong to small-scale enterprises, with small scale, weak R&D capability, poor scale efficiency, and technical level to be improved. High-end sensors need to be imported from abroad. The proportion is large.

Nowadays, the Internet of Things is hot, and all the action links and application scenarios of the interconnection of things need to be completed by sensors, which have become the basic hardware and necessary conditions of the interconnection of things. According to industry forecast, by 2019, China's smart sensor market will reach 96 billion yuan.

Moreover, the disputes over trade wars and the environmental monitoring market triggered by waste sorting are just in need, and the corresponding sensor market will reach hundreds of billions of dollars in market scale.

However, due to the basic problems of industrialization of new materials, equipment and production technology, the backward level of sensor research and development and manufacturing in China contradicts the fast-growing demand and can only rely heavily on imports. Domestic enterprises do not have core technology and unified standards, and users dare not use domestic products in order to maintain the consistency and stability of the system, which also makes some domestic manufacturers increasingly lack self-confidence.

Where are the domestic enterprises going? First of all, it is inevitable to increase R&D investment, including human and financial resources to optimize technology and process details, to achieve overall strength enhancement and promote market-oriented applications. Secondly, disputes over trade wars, applications of environmental monitoring stations and industries should explicitly prohibit the use of imported products, and support and encourage sensor technology to be transformed into mature products entering the market. Finally, through industrial agglomeration, we can walk out of an industrial road and form a complete industrial chain with Chinese brands to meet the needs of the market.
